About the Poet

E. A. "Tony" Mares

E. A. "Tony" Mares is a poet who lives in Albuquerque and teaches in the Creative Writing Program at the University of New Mexico. He is a native Albuquerquean. His poetry has appeared in many venues, including Prairie Schooner, Blue Mesa Review, Blanco Movil, the anthologies Paper Dance and New Mexico Poetry Renaissance, and many other journals and magazines. His book, The Unicorn Poem & Flowers and Songs of Sorrow was published in 1992 and a chapbook, There Are Four Wounds, Miguel, was published in 1995. He is at work on a new collection of his poems.
