East

an unembroidered bird
flaps in the wind
air’s fossil prayer flag

half moon
whistle
mirror
rustle

packrats steal
my clothespins
wedding slip, white gauze dress flap
I danced the feet off
my stockings
stained the shoes
green with grass

half moon hangs like laundry in the daytime sky
moon that scours
the blue
